Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) — is a mandatory procedure that involves analyzing the potential impact of planned economic activity on the environment. It is carried out in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On Environmental Impact Assessment" No. 2059-VIII and is an integral part of the process of expertise of design documentation for certain types of construction projects.
EIA is mandatory if your activity is included in the list specified in the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 982/2017. In particular:
Industrial, energy, transport construction
Mining
Waste management facilities
Agricultural complexes (farms, elevators, poultry farms)
Water management and hydrotechnical structures
Infrastructure facilities with increased environmental load
Mandatory requirement for obtaining a permit to perform construction work
Prevention of conflicts with the public and environmental organizations
Increased trust of investors and partners
Legal protection at all stages of project implementation
Environmental responsibility to society and nature
Environmental impact assessment is not just a bureaucratic requirement. It is a tool for reducing environmental risks, improving the developer's image, and forming a more sustainable approach to urban development.
Modern investors, international funds, and communities increasingly evaluate projects not only in terms of profitability, but also through the prism of environmental safety and social responsibility.
